Welcome to the red carpet time machine, a sliding comparison of celebrated humans then and now. This time around, compare and contrast actors and actress's first Golden Globes outfits to what they wore at last night's show. Evidence put forth below has led to a few notable conclusions for science. Namely, Jennifer Lopez is an ageless vampire goddess, Helen Mirren has always been delightful, and Jane Fonda's love for ruffled embellishment has only grown with age. Fascinating!

Helen Mirren attended the 54th Golden Globes in 1997, eventually winning Best Actress in a Leading Role in a Miniseries or TV Movie in for her role in Losing Chase.

Cate Blanchett won Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama for Elizabeth in 1999 wearing the most '90s gown that ever did '90s.

The only other Golden Globes Taraji P. Henson attended was the 2009 show, so she made up for lost time with a show-stopping train.

Kate Winslet was first nominated in 1996 for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her role in Sense and Sensibility.

Jane Fonda was nominated this year for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her role in Youth. Fonda's first Globes were in 1962, when she won Most Promising Newcomer, but the first photo evidence of her attendance is from the 1979 ceremony. The Globes appear to have been more chill back then, or at least the ruffles were more contained.

Jennifer Lopez, goddess, in 1998, when she was nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for Selena.

Julianne Moore made her Globes debut in 1998 when she was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture for Boogie Nights.

Leonardo DiCaprio was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture What's Eating Gilbert Grape in 1994.

Will Smith attended the Golden Globes in 1993 with his then wife Sheree Fletcher. He was nominated for his work The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
