Tonight, the Golden Globes doubled down on highlighting new series and talent, handing over several awards to Mozart in the Jungle as well as the new CW musical comedy Crazy Ex-Girlfriend's lead, Rachel Bloom. Taraji P. Henson got a little Best Actress love for her role as Cookie on Empire. Her speech was a breath of fresh air during an otherwise stale evening, since she proceeded to pass out cookies and shut the countdown clock down.

On the movie side, The Martian, the hilarious romp through space featuring Matt Damon playing a biologist tortured by disco music as he nearly dies on Mars, won Best Comedy. What a riot. Likewise, The Revenant cleaned up, which is a good omen for Leonardo DiCaprio's Oscar chances. Good luck, Leo, and remember to keep your karma in check.
