What The Team at Neiman Marcus Wears to Work

Plenty of department stores can boast one-stop shopping, but few of them can claim the kind of luxury retail experience that Neiman Marcus is known for. Since its inception more than a century ago, the Dallas-based chain has popped up across the U.S., landing everywhere from Boston to Palm Beach to Washington D.C. But despite this impressive growth, the company still remains true to its Texas roots.

We stopped by their headquarters to meet seven of the employees behind the company's Make Some Noise campaign, which "celebrates bold women with bold voices." Below, they share their closet essentials, the little-known perks about Neiman Marcus (and its restaurants), and the distinctiveness of Dallas style.

Yujin Heo, Vice President of E-Commerce Creative, is wearing an Alice + Olivia jacket, a T by Alexander Wang dress, Valentino sandals, a Chanel necklace, a Vita Fede Bracelet, and a Delfina Delettrez ring.

How would you describe Dallas style?
Confident. People know exactly how they want to look. I love people watching, especially at restaurants. They love dressing up to eat out!

What's the best shopping advice you ever received?
Always tailor your outfits. You look so much sharper! My grandfather was a tailor and he gave me this advice when I was a little girl. I still live by his wisdom.

What are some of your beauty must-haves?
Sisleÿa Eye & Lip Contour Cream, which my mom first bought me when I was in college. I've been using it day and night ever since! Whenever I feel lazy, I cover my face and neck with Omorovicza's Gold Hydralifting Mask and skip all nighttime routines. It's great for traveling.

I use Sulwhasoo Perfecting Cushion SPF 50+ for perfect dewy skin and SPF. Lalique Perles de Lalique Eau de Parfum is my grandmother's, my mom's, and my own favorite perfume. I like how it feels clean and not overpowering. My hair is fine, and I need something that doesn't weigh it down but hydrates the ends. I love how Oribe Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil smells.

Besides Neiman Marcus, where else do you like to shop?
Everywhere! I love shopping online and other stores to get inspiration. Especially Bergdorf Goodman, Bird, COS, Traffic LA, and Concrete and Water in New York.

Georgia Christensen, Vice President of Creative, is wearing a Lizzy Christensen shirt and pants, Hermès sandals, and jewelry from Morocco.
What's one thing shoppers might not know about Neiman Marcus?
The chicken broth that's served in the restaurants is amazing!

Who's your style icon?
I have several, actually: Vogue Fashion Director Tonne Goodman, Diana Vreeland, Ali McGraw in Love Story, with a little bit of Georgia O'Keefe thrown in every now and then.

What brand do you get most excited about when it goes on sale?
Céline, Dries Van Noten, The Row, and Co Collection.

What's the best shopping advice you've received?
Connect with a sales associate who gets you, then trust them — they'll often bring you things that you would never pull yourself

Darlys Michaels, Director of Styling and Model Casting, is wearing an Alexis blouse, Proenza Schouler pants, Gianvito Rossi sandals, antique silver earrings from Peru, a Cartier watch and bracelet, and a gold bangle from Ibiza.

How would you describe your personal style in one sentence?
My style is restrained: clean and monochromatic.

Who's your style icon?
Emmanuelle Alt.

What was your biggest splurge this year?
Fur-lined Gucci loafer slides. I couldn't help myself.

How has your style changed since you began working at Neiman Marcus?
Less is more. Buy the piece you really want, even if it's a budget stretch. It'll never disappoint!

Mallory Fosdick, Director of Marketing Strategy, InCircle, and Credit Partnerships, is wearing an Elie Tahari dress and vest.

What's your typical workday outfit?
A pencil skirt, silk top, or cami, and a structured jacket. Usually I keep one earring by the phone and one in my ear.

What are some of your beauty must-haves?
Sunscreen. As a melanoma survivor, nothing is more important for protecting a woman's life and skin. I also won't leave the house without Clé de Peau concealer. No one should suffer dark circles!

How would you describe your personal style in one sentence?
Practical. I find great "top half" pieces that I can mix with skirts for work and jeans for play.

What's one thing shoppers might not know about Neiman Marcus?
Our iPhone
app! The "Snap. Find. Shop." feature is incredible. Just snap a photo of any item of clothing and receive visual matches from our collections.

What's the one item in your closet you can never have too much of? Jackets of all shapes and styles. From a leather bomber to a tailored blazer to a fur vest, nothing hides all manner of sins (and stains) like a statement jacket.

Mimi Sterling, Vice President of Corporate Communications and Public Relations, is wearing a Diane von Furstenberg dress, a family-heirloom gold charm bracelet, Christian Louboutin pumps, and an Hermès watch.

What investment piece do you believe is always worth the money?
A very chic and timeless handbag. I’ve had a Birkin for ten years and it still looks brand new and very current.

How would you describe Dallas style?
Colorful, bright, sophisticated. The women in Dallas love to dress up and look wonderful doing it!

What was your biggest splurge this year?
An amazing Co. dress I purchased for Neiman Marcus NorthPark's 50th Anniversary Gala. It's black with an attached cape detail. It's very understated, but so beautiful!

What are some of your beauty must-haves?
Illuminage Skin Rejuvenating Face Mask is my secret weapon, along with Dr. Lancer's The Method: Polish, NARS bronzer Laguna and blush in Orgasm, Chanel Levres Scintillantes lipgloss in color 164, and Bobbi Brown's "Beach" scent, which reminds me of summer even in January!

Regina Campbell, Social Media Director, is wearing an Hermès dress, Chanel shoes, and Auden earrings.

What's your typical workday outfit?
I always start my outfit based on the shoes of the day. They're my foundation piece. I'm having a love affair with a pair of Miu Miu pumps and Tom Ford over-the-knee boots this season. Then, a dress. So many great designers! For earrings, the latest pieces by Lana or Auden Jewelry are all must-haves. I wear an Eddie Borgo ear cuff, and a leather jacket, if needed.

What investment piece do you believe is always worth the money?
A handbag is the one piece you can wear everyday and it can always take your outfit to the next level.

What's the best shopping advice you ever received?
Buy what looks good on your body, not what everyone else is wearing.

What was your biggest splurge this year?
Chanel black leather pants. They go with everything!

Wanda Gierhart, Chief Marketing Officer, is wearing an Akris dress and Brian Atwood shoes.

What's one thing shoppers might not know about Neiman Marcus?
You can walk in for a free makeup application and consultation any time!

What's the one item in your closet you can never have too much of?
Leather leggings! You can put them with anything.

What was your biggest splurge this year?
I bought an incredible Bottega Venetta dress with hand-painted gold lace for a Dallas charity gala I chaired.

How has your style changed since you began working at Neiman Marcus?
Now, I'm almost always in heels!
