Reese Witherspoon turned to her fellow Southern enthusiasts at Garden and Gun to give an update on her Southern-inspired lifestyle and e-commerce siteDraper James, which officially launched back in May. The actress says that the brick-and-mortar Draper James store is set for a fall opening date, and, while we already knew that a 3,000 square-foot space was in the works, Witherspoon goes into more detail on the shop here.

"I have so many memories as a kid of sitting [in a now-closed store called McClures] while my mom tried on clothes, running into everyone we knew while we shopped," Witherspoon told Garden and Gun. "I want to re-create that environment. A gathering spot where the mom brings kids in, and you drink sweet tea while you browse. That community. The charm of the old Southern department store feeling."

She explains that the brand is dedicated to these traditional Southern values and extends to producing the clothes in the South. "We call what we do 'unapologetically pretty,'" she said. "It isn't edgy. Or urban. It just makes you feel ready to take on the world." It's also revealed that much of Draper James's items are made in the region— the the denim and line pillows, specifically, are both made in different parts of Georgia. "Southerners have such pride in their work," she explained. "I was tapping into a community that already existed."

Update: Dallas, Reese Witherspoon is coming your way. Fast Company reports that after Draper James opens its brick-and-mortar store in Nashville at the end of October, a Dallas boutique will be next.
