For all those concerned that an already likely very boring sports game would be further tainted by a lack of pop star accoutrements like bouncing tightrope walkers and rogue dancing sharks  — great news! There's a chance that this year's Super Bowl half-time performers, Coldplay, could be joined by both Beyoncé and Rihanna.

The Daily Mirror reports that frontman Chris Martin is in "advanced talks" with both women to collaborate on Coldplay's 12-minute performance at the Super Bowl, which this year will be held on February 7th in Santa Clara, California.

A source tells the paper:

Chris and his band know they're not typically as showy as recent performers like Katy Perry and Madonna with all the dancers and, while they love a light show, they still want to bring a few surprises out. Beyoncé and Rihanna are both keen to join in the high-profile ceremony and will add just the spark needed to make it an amazing and unforgettable show.
