Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

After Self hired on a new digital director from BuzzFeed in September, it was rumored that the magazine was trending in an all-digital direction. Now, layoffs of up to 15 staffers on the print and art side essentially confirm that rumor, WWD reports. Self let go members of the print team's fashion and features department and the magazine's booking editor and business manager are both no longer with the company.

A spokesperson for Condé Nast was optimistic about the changes while speaking with WWD. "Since relaunching in March, Self.com has exceeded growth expectations," the spokesperson said. "We are making strategic decisions about resources to support our digital and social platforms while maintaining the integrity of our print product." The company has already reduced its number of print issues to 10 a year, its publisher Mary Murcko was let go, and its advertising team was merged with Glamour's. Those last two bits of news were announced at the time that Details shut down; the men's magazine is now transitioning to GQStyle.com and could serve as a model for what's happening to Self. Glamour itself was also hit by layoffs just yesterday.
