DKNY ‘PR Girl’ Aliza Licht Is Reportedly Leaving the Company

With all the recent changes at Donna Karan, as the designer herself steps down from the company and Public School designers Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne pick up the reigns at DKNY, it makes sense that the brand's popular Twitter account DKNY PR Girl handled by Aliza Licht might not fit in anymore. Mashable reports that this month, the DKNY PR Girl Twitter persona has completely disappeared.

Every tweet from DKNY PR Girl aka Licht has been deleted as well as the DKNY PR Girl Tumblr account. "The chic, fire-haired avatar dissolved completely, replaced by a new, stolid corporate handle, which as of yet, has not tweeted anything," Mashable's David Yi writes. The brand's Instagram now says "Work in progress. 9.16.15."

Licht told Mashable she's staying on with DKNY, and that DKNY PR Girl has "graduated' from the Twittersphere. "DKNY is heading into an exciting new creative direction, starting with the upcoming September show," she told Mashable. "We are grateful for the community's support these past six years and hope they stay tuned for this newly consolidated DKNY digital universe."

Before the account disappeared, Licht invited fans to follow her at her personal account. When the @dkny handle launched in 2009, Licht started manning the account anonymously, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the brand. She ended up with half a million followers and a book deal for her career advice tome Leave Your Mark.

Update: According to the New York Post, Aliza Licht is reportedly stepping down from her position as SVP of Global Communications at DKNY. There's no word yet on how soon she will leave the company and who her replacement will be.
