Here Is Taylor Swift's First GQ Cover

Taylor Swift remains well on the path to world domination with her first cover for GQ. The November cover reveal comes hot on the heels of her role fronting this week's NME magazine. Swift was shot in Malibu by photographer Michael Thompson and spoke with writer Chuck Klosterman for an interview that GQ teases as "intense" and "wide-ranging," with a dash of Kanye West.

Klosterman also has high praise for the pop star in the issue. "If you don't take Swift seriously, you don't take contemporary music seriously," he writes. "There's simply no antecedent for this kind of career: a cross-genre, youth-oriented, critically acclaimed colossus based entirely on the intuitive songwriting merits of a single female artist. It's as if mid-period Garth Brooks was also early Liz Phair, minus the hat and the swearing. As a phenomenon, it's absolutely new."

Swifties, enjoy these covers while they last, because as Swift tells NME, after her 1989 tour she might go away for a little. "I think I should take some time off," she says. "I think people might need a break from me."
