Kanye West will receive a design award next month from Footwear News for his constantly sold-out Adidas Yeezy Boosts. West will join designers like Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik, Stuart Weitzman and Pierre Hardy, who've all been recognized at the FN Achievement Awards. Let FN's Jennie Bell explain why the publication will crown West and Adidas with the "Shoe of the Year" award:

This year’s Shoe of the Year honor recognizes the insatiable demand for all things Yeezy. The sneaker releases dominated the market in 2015 as demand for the product crashed servers, sparked extraordinary resale value and created a need for mob control in stores. From the moment Kanye West unveiled the 750 high-tops on the Grammys, his Adidas sneakers have been the most-coveted, most-talked-about, most-recognized shoes this year.

The frenzy for Yeezys was stoked by practically all members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan wearing Yeezy 350s. Those who were able to get their hands on the sneakers on release day turned around and listed them on eBay for thousands of dollars. They even inspired sneaker financing plans.

Fans are still waiting for the release of the duck boot, and the beige Yeezy 350 is rumored to be out in November. Meanwhile, Kanye's Yeezy Season 1 Adidas apparel is set for an October 29th release.
