Tommy Ton's New Website Will Have 15,000 Street Style Photos

Tommy Ton, street style photographer of Style.com fame, unveiled a new site today which will feature 15,000 of his images from the past decade, Business of Fashion reports. Instead of signing on with the new Vogue Runway like a few other Style.com veterans, Ton decided to strike out on his own and cover the Spring 2016 shows independently.

"It’s a huge gamble, but I think it will open other doors," he told BoF. "In fashion, there’s just so much change happening and I’ve been very fortunate to develop a lot of relationships in my career through designers and brands. So, I’ve been thinking, maybe I should just focus on that and not worry so much about whether or not my name is branded with anyone else’s."

Ton doesn't plan on monetizing his site, either. He's going to focus on client work and licensing his images. He'll also attend all the major fashion weeks this fall. Eventually Ton's site will feature original videos, interviews, and editorials in addition to all those images previously seen on Style.com, GQ.com and Ton's old blog, Jak & Jil.

Right now, it has a very detailed search section that lets fashion fans search Ton's archives based on designer, color, trend, clothing item, season, subject name, and more. "I thought it was really important, from a fashion nerd’s perspective, to be able to look back and view all these images I’ve taken in one place, and for it to be categorized down to every detail," Ton told BoF.
