Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Yesterday, Racked reported on the shutter of Lucky's print magazine and subsequent layoffs of staffers without severance. The Cut just posted a follow-up with additional quotes from a former Lucky employee, who describes sales at the e-commerce site Lucky Shops "pretty flat." Their source also calls out former Lucky EIC Eva Chen, whose cheery social media persona is still chugging right along despite the tough times at the publication. "I find it really insensitive for her to be posting pictures of happy-face macarons when her staffers are unemployed," the former Lucky staffer said.
