Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Tommy Ton is no longer Style.com's famous street style photographer. It's been speculated that his last days with Style.com were imminent in September, when the site published a five-year retrospective of his work in the field that sounded a whole lot like a goodbye. At that time, he also shut down his personal street style blog, Jak & Jil.

Last night, he Instagrammed his last Style.com photo (a portrait of Nick Wooster) captioned with some parting words of gratitude for the job:

So this is my Style.com sign off. I want to thank everyone over the last six years for their incredible outpour of support. I grew up glued to my computer screen living vicariously through the world of Style.com and never in a million years did I expect to become a contributor to the most relevant and influential fashion publication. It's sad to see it go but fashion is all about change and moving forward. I want to thank Dirk Standen, Nicole Phelps and Tim Blanks for mentoring me and giving me this platform. I, still to this day, pinch myself that I had this incredible opportunity and will be forever grateful to the Style.com team for allowing me to be a part of history. Last week was my last submission in the field and I was fortunate to have my friend, Nick Wooster, be the last image I took for Style.com. Many, many thanks again, Tommy

Nick Wooster left an equally touching comment in response to the photo: "Thanks so much @tommyton -- my life has been forever changed because of you!"

There's no word yet on where Tommy Ton is headed next, but Style.com's days are numbered. The site will be morphing into Condé Nast's global e-commerce hub in the fall, with editorial content redirected to a new domain under the Vogue umbrella.
