Herve Leger Fires Executive Who Made Terrible Comments About Women

Herve Leger has fired Patrick Couderc, the executive responsible for making horrible comments about which types of women should and should not be wearing the brand's signature skintight bandage dresses. A company representative told Page Six that the comments "are not a reflection of Herve Leger by Max Azria or MJH Fashion ideals... he is no longer associated with the company."

On Sunday, Couderc told The Daily Mail that women with larger chests, flat chests and curvy hips, and/or lesbians shouldn't be wearing Herve Leger. "If you're a committed lesbian and you are wearing trousers all your life, you won't want to buy a Leger dress," Couderc said. "Lesbians would want to be rather butch and leisurely."

He continued: "You women have a lot of problems. You will lose the plot. You will come and you will put a dress on and you'll be in front of the mirror, like, 'Argh, I'm so fat.' Yes, you have a 12th of an inch around your stomach, it's not really a disaster, and what you're not noticing is that your cleavage is about two inches too low because you are 55 and it's time that you should not display everything like you're 23."

Not surprisingly, the inflammatory comments traveled swiftly across the internet yesterday. Late last night, the brand posted an apology on Facebook making it clear that it didn't condone Couderc's actions. "We are appalled by Patrick Couderc's comments made in the Daily Mail on Sunday," the post reads. "His remarks are not a reflection of Herve Leger, which celebrates sensuality, glamour and femininity without discrimination. His comments were deeply offensive to us all."
