Gwyneth Paltrow is giving credit where it is due. In an interview with Fast Company, the Goop creator reveals that the now-legendary synonym for divorce was actually thought up by editorial director Elise Loehnen. GP says, "When I announced that I was separating on the website, [Loehnen] titled the piece 'Conscious Uncoupling' and I had no idea." After the internet erupted in criticism and jokes, the actress relieved her inevitably nervous staff by telling them that "we are creating interesting discussions."
Almost a year after her consciously uncoupling, Paltrow told Howard Stern that the practice is working, but is "kind of a goofy term." A goofy term, but the Goop-iest conversation topic that keeps on giving!
