Like Kendall and Kylie before her, Gigi Hadid's landed a fashion collab. But instead of linking up with a PacSun or Topshop, Hadid is going to design a capsule collection for Tommy Hilfiger, the New York Times reports in a shade-filled interview.

Hilfiger dreamed up the the Gigi by Tommy Hilfiger collaboration after the model walked in his Spring 2016 show. The concept started out as a global ambassadorship but morphed into something bigger since Hilfiger wasn't as enthusiastic about the idea of brand ambassadors.

"Global ambassadorships are a bit overused and not too exciting," Hilfiger told the New York Times. "We’re really doing something different. We’re creating a line called Gigi by Tommy Hilfiger, using her style, her sense, her social media presence as the top supermodel in the world today."

NYT's Jacob Bernstein notes that Hilfiger is feeding off our "current celebrity phenomenon" with the announcement of a collaboration with Hadid. The rising model and Instagram star is described thusly:

Famous for being famous, Ms. Hadid is nevertheless well behaved enough not to be deemed offensive to the culture at large (or to big companies like Tommy Hilfiger and Maybelline, for whom she also shoots campaigns).

Bernstein also calls Hadid out for her frequent use of the word "amazing." Who doesn't overuse that word, to be honest?

Their capsule collection will be out in the fall and Hadid will also be the face of Tommy Hilfiger's main brand. In addition to that campaign, she'll appear in ads for footwear, watches, and an upcoming fragrance. Tommy Hilfiger's empire has enjoyed a renaissance in the past few years after a bold turn-around plan worked out for the once-ailing brand.

Update: Hadid shared some of the initial designs from the collaboration on her Snapchat. The photo was saved by Hadid fan account @All4GigiHadid and retweeted by the model herself. So far, the collaboration looks to be limited to Gigi and nautical-themed patches. Take a look for yourself below.
