Donald Trump’s Home Decor Line Pulled From Stores in the Middle East

Donald Trump refuses to back down from his proposal to ban all Muslims from entering the US, despite a barrage of condemnation from his fellow presidential candidates and just about everyone else, Democrat and Republican alike. Now Quartz reports that his anti-Muslim stance is affecting the Trump retail empire.

Lifestyle, one of largest home retail chains in the Middle East, is pulling all Trump Home-branded merchandise from its more than 160 stores. Lifestyle sent a statement to Quartz explaining its decision:

As one of the most popular home decor brands in the Middle East, Lifestyle values and respects the sentiments of all its customers. In light of the recent statements made by the presidential candidate in the US media, we have suspended sale of all products from the Trump Home décor range.

Lifestyle announced in February of this year that it would exclusively sell the Trump Home collection in Kuwait, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. The line offers room decor, bath accessories, lighting, decorative mirrors, and more.

In July, Macy's removed Donald Trump brand merchandise from its stores after Trump's remarks labeling immigrants from Mexico and other countries as "killers and rapists." Macy's said in a statement: "In light of statements made by Donald Trump, which are inconsistent with Macy's values, we have decided to discontinue our business relationship with Mr. Trump and will phase-out the Trump menswear collection, which has been sold at Macy's since 2004." NBC also canceled the television broadcast of Trump's Miss USA Pageant after his immigration comments.
