Angelina Jolie covers Vogue's November issue and appears in a spread with her six children in a stunning shoot by photographer Annie Leibovitz. The shoot, primarily shot on the beach, features Jolie, husband Brad Pitt, and their children Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne. Jolie talks about her upcoming movie with Brad Pitt, By the Sea, and how she is involving her children in her philanthropic efforts.

By the Sea is the first project the Jolie-Pitts have appeared on-screen together since Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and Angelina says it's her most personal project to date. "This is the only film I've done that is completely based on my own crazy mind," she tells Vogue.

Angelina also says that she makes certain that her adopted children are in touch with both their own roots as well as their siblings' and parents'. "We travel often to Asia, Africa, Europe, where they were born," she says. "The boys know they're from Southeast Asia, and they have their food and their music and their friends, and they have a pride particular to them. But I want them to be just as interested in the history of their sisters' countries and Mommy's country so we don't start dividing. Instead of taking Z on a special trip, we all go to Africa and we have a great time."

While working on her new movie based on Loung Ung's memoir, which explores the torture and death the author overcame while living in Cambodia as a child under the Khmer Rouge, Angelina had Maddox and Pax pitch in on set. "The film will change Mad, but as much as he's discovering the horrors of the past, he'll also be discovering the culture before the war, the dignity of his country, how they held their heads up." She will also work closely with the people in Cambodia for the film, and will also have the film's wardrobe made there. "I'll be making it with the Cambodians every step of the way," she says.
