Winter is a great excuse to invest in new beauty products — darker makeup, more moisturizing oils, and spicier fragrances. Each product below combines gorgeous packaging with rich colors and more winter-friendly formulas; they're the antithesis of bright, sunny summer options.

This is Azzadine AlaÏa's impressive debut fragrance. The inspiration behind the scent is idyllic and romantic: a childhood memory of throwing cold water on sun-scorched walls in Tunisia, where he lived until he moved to Paris as a teenager. The patterned black glass bottle houses a spicy, musky scent made light by peony, pink pepper, and rose.

NARS products have devoted followings for good reason — they really work. The brand's line of dual-intensity products, ranging from eyeshadow to these blushes, is no exception. Each features two shades that can be used dry or wet for saturated and multidimensional looks, as the name suggests. The colors compliment each other and can be worn alone or together.

Satin is the easiest-wearing lipstick finish — it's not sticky like gloss and not drying like matte. This Guerlain option glides on luxuriously thanks to mango butter and hyaluronic acid. The brand offers a wide range of colors, and these three shades are perfect for colder months. The packaging, a beautiful black-and-gold tube, feels very much like something a ‘50s Hollywood starlet would stock on her vanity.

The harsh winter air can (and will) do a number on skin. Take precautions now by loading up on hydrating and revitalizing products. The Body Shop's new Oils of Life line contains three different types of oil to pamper skin and make it look its best: black cumin seed oil, known for its antioxidants; camellia seed oil, which contains a high concentration of oleic acid; and rose hip seed oil, which helps with skin repair thanks to Omega-3 and -6.
