One Direction Is Moving Into Thirst Trap Territory

Despite heavy competition from waist trainers, DJ Khaled's Snapchat, and the Yeezyfication of everything, 2015 was, by all measures, the year of the male thirst trap. While the concept, known as as "a sexy photo posted intentionally to grab your attention and then shame you for it by outing your thirst," has been around for years, it wasn't until 2015 that we had a hefty roster of thirst-trapping male celebrities, from Drake to Bieber. And on one of the last days of the year, that list will now include One Directioner Liam Payne.

Though his Instagram account is usually reserved for steely faced selfies, today Liam posted a photo of his shirtless torso, taken in classic MySpace style — that is, at a slight downward angle, and via a mirror. Even the caption ("Christmas weight dusted!!") beckons for a double tap. It may be relatively PG compared to the poetic eroticism that is The Game's Instagram account, but if this is anything like what the rest of One Direction's hiatus will be like, beware of similar traps in the near future.
