Kohl's is about to open its own outlet store in early June, Chain Store Age reports. Off-Aisle by Kohl's in Cherry Hill, New Jersey will be stocked with deeply discounted, like-new merchandise that had previously been returned to Kohl's stores and Kohls.com. The plan is to add more merchandise later on.

"Off-Aisle by Kohl’s is a single store that will enable Kohl’s to test new ways to provide its customers with the opportunity to purchase merchandise at a highly discounted price," Kohl's corporate public relations manager Julia Fennelly told Chain Store Age.

Every department store that doesn't yet have an outlet seems to be in a rush to add one. Earlier this month, Macy's announced that it's also testing an outlet concept too, with four pilot Macy’s off-price stores coming to the New York City area this fall.
