Three Miami Swim Week Trends You'll Actually Want to Wear

Miami Swim Week—a quick (and disorganized) hodgepodge of runway shows, presentations, and parties—has drawn to a close. Swimwear shows have a tendency to go over the top, but look past the stunts (puppies on the runway) and the overworked styling (Kate Upton as a bikini bride complete with floor-grazing veil) and you'll find some exciting (and wearable!) trends. We parsed the campy runways to pull out three styles you'll actually want to embrace.

Sweetness: Designers showed pale pink and lavender hues, ruffles, off-the-shoulder tops, and delicate florals. This sweet look, which Tori Praver nailed, is refreshing after seasons of graphic cut-outs and complicated strap details.

T-shirt tops: Short-sleeve crop tops were paired with bikinis for an abbreviated rash guard look. Following the literal rise of high-waisted bottoms, it's cool to see proportions flip flop with a more covered top and low-rise brief. Some of the most interesting sets came from the Chromat runway.

High-cut sides: In true Baywatch fashion, one-piece swimsuits were shown with leg holes cut extra high. This wasn't limited to the classic tank style, but also showed up in sexier strapless swimsuits and even an overall-esque look from Minimale Animale.
