Chanel Will Stage a Fashion Show in Havana, Cuba

Chanel is jumping on board with fashion's fascination with Cuba as a backdrop. The brand's Cruise 2017 show is happening in Havana, according to Harper's Bazaar. The show is scheduled for May 3rd, and some outlets are reporting it will be Chanel's first presentation staged in Latin America.

In the past two years, Karl Lagerfeld has traveled the globe for Chanel's Cruise and Metiers d'Arts shows. Seoul, Salzburg, Dallas, and Dubai have all served as host cities. Chanel's upcoming Metiers d'Arts show on December 1st will be held in Rome.

Lagerfeld gave a big tip that Chanel might be Cuba-bound earlier this month in an interview with Elle UK after Chanel's international travel and airplane-themed Spring 2016 show. Here's what Elle UK’s Rebecca Lowthorpe wrote: "‘Cuba!’ said Mr. Lagerfeld when asked where he would jet off to if the Chanel Airline were fully operational. A clue, perhaps, as to where Chanel might show its next fashion extravaganza…"
