Here's a new twist in Nordstrom Rack's ambitious plan for growth: the company just announced that it will launch a home goods section online on August 5th. There aren't too many details on the announcement page, but expect to find merchandise like bedding, entertaining essentials, and home decor items. Just like for apparel, Nordstrom Rack advertises that you can return your purchases within 90 days in person at Nordstrom Rack stores. In order to get free shipping though, you'll need to spend more than $100, and items must be under five pounds.

Nordstrom Rack Home online looks like it could be direct competitor to a few of those other off-price brands, like T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, and HomeGoods. It doesn't appear that HomeGoods offers online shopping, but T.J. Maxx's website boasts a home section selling bath, bedding, decor, and kitchen items. But can shopping online possibly compare to the cathartic pleasures of shopping T.J.Maxx's home goods department in person?
