Thanks to Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, and Kanye West, the VMAs were one hell of a roller coaster. There were unexpected cameos, old beef and new beef played out on stage, and even a presidential bid for the 2020 election, all loosely strung together with naked outfits, wild performances, and weed references. There was barely a moment to come up for air.

Lucky for you, you cable-cutting millennial who believed the livestream on the site would be the same show on television, here's a recap containing only the most insane, noteworthy, and bizarre moments.

First up in the fashion department is none other than Kanye West. The rapper and designer rolled up with Kim Kardashian wearing coordinating long-sleeved beige tones. On his feet, however, Kanye wore a pair of Yeezys, in a brand new color.

ready-to-dance Jeremy Scott added even more color to the carpet, dressing as the color bars of a broken TV screen. The fashion and moonman designer was shirtless under the rainbow blazer.

The main show kicked off with Nicki Minaj sitting on a throne made of people, performing her "Trini Dem Girls," then "The Night Is Still Young." At minute 2:55, former Twitter beef participant Taylor Swift appeared, wearing a similarly shiny shade of red. The two march towards each other and shift to a song of Taylor's, "Bad Blood," just before hugging it out. This is probably the only time you'll see Nicki Minaj dancing to Taylor Swift, so savor the moment.

Nicki Minaj proved that she does not fear confrontation, engaging Miley Cyrus in some intense, very possibly planned strong words on live television. She asked, "Miley, what's good?!" while accepting her moonman for "Anaconda."

While most listen to Justin Bieber's new tune as the party track that it is, the singer internalized the song as a ballad and cried to it. The true reason for Justin's swarm of emotions is unconfirmed, but that makes watching Justin's tear-ridden face on repeat no less enjoyable.

MTV proved that it knows how to get ratings, having Taylor Swift deliver the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award to Kanye West (You know, the Kanye West who infamously told Swift, "Imma let you finish," years ago). In honor of the interruption of all interruptions, Taylor did her best Kanye, using the same words as he did when proclaiming that Beyoncé deserved the 2009 award.

Kanye West accepted the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, and spoke extensively about millennials and his hot take on awards show during his 13-minute long speech. He ended his Twitter rant come to life with, "I have decided in 2020 to run for President." And no, he isn't joking.

And in case there was any doubt that Miley wore ridiculous outfits throughout the entire show, getting progressively crazier, check out the above gallery filled with her VMA attire.
