After suspending design operations in March and shutting down NYC boutiques over the summer with fire sales online, Reed Krakoff is designing again. This time it's a 180-degree turn from the $3,000 luxury handbags the former Coach designer produced for his namesake line. Krakoff is partnering with Kohl's for a limited-edition collection of handbags and apparel called REED that will be available exclusively at Kohl’s stores and online for spring 2016.

The REED collection will focus on handbags, but will also include sportswear-inspired clothing. Prices will range from $15 to $129. WWD has photos of the collection, which will include color-blocked totes, key fobs, track pants, and apparel with dip dye color schemes and hand-drawn prints.

"When Kohl’s presented me with this great opportunity, I couldn’t say no," Krakoff said in a press release. "Everyday luxury embodies the best of American fashion. The ability to create great design at an incredible value is more relevant today than ever before. Great style is all about the unexpected, and Kohl’s is an amazing platform for this limited-edition collection."

As for the future of Reed Krakoff as a stand-alone brand, Krakoff told WWD: "We’re in the process of having a number of conversations with a variety of groups. They’re all interesting and exciting. It will be a while before we finish. We have a lot of interested parties. There’s a lot of love for the brand."
