Melissa McCarthy is launching her new clothing line, Melissa McCarthy Seven7, and she's denouncing the way the fashion industry talks about plus-size in the process. Like many women forced to shop in a "segregated plus section," the actress feels tossed aside by retailers, who often shove plus-size offerings with maternity and sale.

McCarthy's line will be available in sizes four to 28, telling Refinery29, "If you’re going to make women’s clothing, make women’s clothing." She continues:

Women come in all sizes. Seventy percent of women in the United States are a size 14 or above, and that’s technically "plus-size," so you’re taking your biggest category of people and telling them, "You’re not really worthy." I find that very strange.

McCarthy has been working with a couple of "very big retailers" who will help her put plus-size women's clothing where it belongs, with the rest of the women's clothing. For now, the line is available on HSN.
