J.Crew relaunched its men's denim line yesterday, reports Complex, with all-new washes, fits, and fabric sourced from Japan. "We chose the Kaihara mill because Japanese denim is produced with a real love of craft," J.Crew designer Rich Hermosura told Complex. "The fabric is treated like an art form, and there’s a deep commitment to tradition and heritage." The mill that J.Crew sourced its denim from has been churning out the indigo-dyed fabric for 100 years, and J.Crew worked with Kentucky denim experts Wonderland Concepts to create the brand-new washes that are meant to mimic natural wear patterns. Hermosura said that vintage jeans and the designers' most-worn jeans were used as a starting point to create the washes.

The fit for the new J.Crew men's denim line ranges from "slim, slimmest, and straight." The line is priced between $96 and $198. Denim's been a big focus for J.Crew: last year the brand rolled out a premium women's line called Point Sur geared toward denim diehards.
