Months after Apple rolled out its upscale plans for selling the Watch (only at fashion boutiquesby appointment onlyfancier employee shirts!), it's starting to walk back some of those measures in order to get the Watch in front of more potential customers. According to The Verge, Apple no longer requires shoppers to book an in-store appointment in order to view the watch.

"Although plenty of anecdotal reports suggest that this appointment process was never strictly enforced, this move certainly implies that the company wants to make it easier for customers to get some hands-on time with the device," The Verge's James Vincent writes. The company is probably hoping that an easier shopping experience leads to a sales boost, which, according to data released by a third party analytics firm, is greatly needed. According to the data report, Apple was selling 35,000 Watches per day in April, but by July that number had plummeted to 5,000 Watches per day.
