Mansur Gavriel Debuted Shoes and They Are Perfect

Mansur Gavriel, the two-year-old accessories brand responsible for igniting bucket bag frenzy and notorious for lengthly wait lists, showed its first fashion week presentation last night, debuting — gasp — shoes. Designers Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavreil teased the addition of footwear (and clothes!) at the CFDA Awards in June, wearing pairs themselves to accept the Swarovski Award for Accessory Design.

At last night's presentation we got the first formal look at the shoe range, which includes three heel heights (flat, 40mm, and 100mm with a platform) in a variety of slide-on styles: single-strap, double-strap, open-toe mule, and cross-front. All have the easy minimalism that made the brand's bags so desirable in the first place — versatile, unfussy, well-made.

The designers also triumph in color selection, further evidenced by the gorgeous ones shown here: brick red, blush pink, sun yellow, and a navy called "blu," just to name a few. The same pretty shades were used in the all-new bag shapes the designers showed. Get ready for three new clutch styles (flat, moon, and "volume") as well as a top-handled circle bag. There were no bucket bags or other pre-existing silhouettes shown at the presentation, but we highly doubt they'll stop producing obvious top-sellers. The presentation was a celebration of newness and what's next for the successful brand. Judging by the reaction of editors and Instagram commenters, the girls nailed it.
