Fifteen Quintessential Resort 2016 Looks

Despite what your Gregorian calendar says, there is a fashion season wedged between fall/winter and spring/summer. Resort was born as a solution for wealthy vacationers ditching the brutal cold of January and February for warm weather destinations, offering swimwear and sandals in the dead of winter. In recent years, the between-seasons season has grown to be, simply, a refresh of the sales floor when those holiday party dresses have been marked down 75% and your closet is achingly in need of something—anything!—new.

Designers have just finished showing their collections for resort 2016, and we've sifted through the massive number of looks to pull out fifteen that you need to see. Check out the gallery above for three looks from five of the best shows, including Phillip Lim's undone knits, a play on minimalism and primary colors from Ports 1961, and Michael Kors's distinctly Americana take on the undying '70s trend.
