Nylon magazine's editor-in-chief Michelle Lee is moving on. According to a press release, Lee announced her departure today and deputy Nylon editor Melissa Giannini has been named EIC at the magazine, effective immediately.

"We're thrilled to have an experienced editor like Melissa move into this role so we can ensure a seamless transition. She is the perfect person for the position, as she fully understands the Nylon brand with her tailored editorial background and time with the company specifically. At the same time, we thank Michelle for her superb work at NYLON and wish her the best," Nylon CEO Paul Greenberg said in a press release.

Lee, who served as the publication's editor-in-chief and chief marketing officer, had plans to push more fashion and music content. She joined Nylon in June 2014.

The magazine went through layoffs last month, and there was speculation it might go all-digital. For what it's worth, the press release regarding Giannini's appointment seems to focus on digital achievements versus print. Nylon chief revenue officer Sean Cullinane is quoted as saying: "Our massive growth on the digital front in 2015 has been supported in many ways by the brand equity and quality content the magazine continues to deliver. Melissa's passion for NYLON is evident and I'm excited that she's taking the reins now as editorial driven native and branded content emerge as major revenue drivers across all our platforms."
