Gap Ditches Celebs for Top Models in its Fall Ads

Gap's Fall-Winter 2015 campaign is out, and as Fashion Gone Rogue puts it, the ads are "back to basics," but basics worn by incredibly good-looking people. The brand enlisted top and up-and-coming models for the shots instead of going the celebrity route, as seen in Gap's 2014 "Dress Normal" campaign which featured the likes of Anjelica Huston and Elizabeth Moss.

For Fall 2015, models like Caroline Trentini, Andreea Diaconu, Karolin Wolter, Liu Wen, Aya Jones, and Angel Rut pose in denim jackets, zipper-covered skinny black jeans, flares, and leather moto jackets. The campaign was shot by Mikael Jansson, who also is responsible for Calvin Klein's buzzy fall ads featuring Kendall Jenner and Joan Smalls. Some commenters from The Fashion Spot seemed to approve of Gap's direction, writing things like "Unexpected from Gap indeed. Caroline's pictures are simply amazing, she looks beautiful!" and "Amazing photos, I love the styling" or "Wonderful cast and lovely campaign."
