Blake Lively announced the closure of her site Preserve in an interview with Vogue earlier this week. Now, Lively has issued a statement to her fans and followers on Instagram about the short-lived site, which launched just last summer.

"Thank you guys for your support every step of the way in the @preserve_us adventure. I couldn't be more grateful!! One day I'll stop wearing so many hats ....but ...I'll probably be dead by then, so...," Lively writes in the caption of an Instagram picture which features her literally wearing many hats.

Then the caption takes an unexpected turn, "I'm just doin' what mama taught me. She's my idol. Who's yours?" Followed by a series of emoji and the hashtag "#WhyIsThereNoEmojiForSpiceGirlsGirlPowerFingers ?!!!"

Lively announced she was taking the site dark earlier this week until she can bring it up to her standards. The actress admits that the site wasn't ready when it launched and without this temporary shutdown it would have never been what Lively imagined it could be. We can only hope artisanal handmade towers of hats will be available when the site comes back so we can steal Lively's look here.
