Here's What Carine Roitfeld’s Uniqlo Collab Will Look Like

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

There are two Uniqlo designer collabs happening this fall, and while we already know quite a bit about Uniqlo's line with the duo behind Lemaire, there wasn't much chatter about Carine Roitfeld's partnership with the fast fashion brand. Now The Fashion Spot's posted two photos from the Uniqlo x Carine Roitfeld collection ad campaign, which were reportedly shot by none other than Steven Meisel.

The ads feature model Lexi Boling, who's done up to be the spitting image of Roitfeld, heavy eyeliner and all. It's all so Carine, from the faux leopard print coat to a power belt and camisole slip dress.

On the side of the images, there's fine print that reads, "The first collection launches on October 29th. All items are available at the flagship stores and online. Selected items are available at other stores." When Uniqlo announced the collab, the launch date was said to be at the end of October.

The prices might be a bit higher than expected, though. The ads list all the prices of the pieces shown, from €$7.90 tights ($8.91 at current exchange) to €149.90 coats ($169.07). The camisole dress is €69.90 ($78.84) and a cashmere sweater is €89.90 (101.40). A landing page for the Uniqlo x Carine Roitfeld collab didn't appear to be live yet.

In a recent interview with the Observer, the CR Fashion Book EIC promised that her Uniqlo line would be above all wearable. "It’s very simple. It’s not a jacket with three arms. And I can wear everything. They are clothes a mother can share with her daughter," she said.
