TMZ reports that Christian Audigier, the designer behind Ed Hardy and Von Dutch, had passed away at age 57. The reported cause of death was cancer. Audigier was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome in January.

The designer sparked a trucker hat craze with the Von Dutch label in the early 2000s, and his Ed Hardy brand with its tattoo-print hoodies and T-shirts grossed more than $700 million at its peak of popularity in 2009. According to TMZ, his fortune is estimated at nearly $250 million.
