"Because I have colorful hair, I tend to wear neutral colors to balance things out. But like clockwork, every year around this time, I fall into a rut of wearing only neutral colors, the worst offender being black jeans. I love black, but far too often it makes me feel gloomy and drab. Realizing that my dark-denim addiction was setting in, I went searching for a colorful skirt to brighten up my wardrobe (and my mood) during the colder months.
This skirt from Topshop solves all my problems. It's bright without looking out of season and it pairs well with traditional fall colors. I like that it doesn't cling uncomfortably to my body and the length and cozy sweater material will keep me toasty well into winter. While the weather still permits, I'll wear it with my black mules from Madewell, another transitional weather staple that's carried me from summer into fall."

Hometown: Huntington, New York
Best vacation of all time: I'm torn between my time studying abroad in Spain and a trip to Maui, Hawaii (a.k.a paradise).
On my playlist right now: Stromae. I saw him live earlier this month knowing only two songs, but it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to and now I'm hooked.
Fall beverage of choice: A dirty chai latte, please.
