Just like TwitterPinterest, and Instagram before it, Snapchat is becoming shoppable. PopSugar-owned platform ShopStyle has partnered up with FarFetch and five different bloggers to demonstrate how Snapchat can be monetized, even though the app has a ways to go to catch up with its competitors that are now installing in-app buy buttons.

Christine Andrew of Hello Fashion, Jacey Duprie of Damsel in Dior, Natalie Suarez of Natalie Off Duty, Geri Hirsch of Because I'm Addicted, and Courtney Trop of Always Judging partnered up with ShopStyle to display photos on Snapchat all week long that include links directing users over to Snapchat shops set up by Shopstyle at snap.shopstyle.com, where they're then directed to Farfetch to buy product.

Retail Dive reviewed the process, noting that the bloggers tend to feature higher-end options that probably aren't within the typical Snapchat user's budget, and Digiday pointed out that the process still seemed clunky because there are no direct links within the Snapchat app. Regardless, it is the first step to monetizing yet another of fashion's favorite social platforms.
