In an episode of really unfortunate timing, Rent the Runway had an ad running on the homepage of its site promoting dresses with a Charleston aesthetic on the day of the Charleston shootings. Not quite a week later, the site has taken down the old ad and re-worded it to drop the reference to Charleston.

Rent The Runway's homepage used to display "Charleston Wedding" in huge, script-y font with "Southern charm is all about pastels, florals, and lace," inscribed underneath. Now, site visitors are greeted with a more generic heading ("Southern Weddings") with "Pastels, florals, and lace are designed to charm" written underneath.
