Many scoffed when the sky-high prices for Kanye West's Yeezy Season 1 were released. However, that hasn't stopped the collection from selling out at a variety of retail locations, WWD reports. Many of the 30+ retailers that picked up Yeezy Season 1 reported healthy sales and lines of people waiting outside for a chance to buy the collection. The retailers also said that they would stock West's Yeezy Season 2 line, which will not be produced by Adidas.

Barneys stocked the collection at 16 of its locations and Tom Kalenderian, the department store's executive VP and general merchandise manager of men's, said that the boots and the grey boucle sweater were best sellers. "The Adidas Originals by Kanye West Yeezy Season 1 apparel collection is impressive in the way it has all the right pieces that are trending well right now and will appeal to our fashion customers," Kalenderian tells WWD.

Barneys' success story was echoed around the country. The Webster in Miami held a private cocktail party to pre-sell the collection and sold out the styles it had leftover the next day. Texas menswear store Black Market USA had 40 people lined up outside the store looking to shop the collection, the most dedicated of which waited 12 hours just to get their hands on Yeezy Season 1.

While there are still select styles left online at places like Barneys, and two sites that are offering discounts in MatchesFashion (use the code EXTRA 10) and The Factory (use the code YEEZY), it's clear that much more sold than was anticipated by the masses.
