Fashion week street style has calmed down in recent seasons. Gone are the sky-high platforms and six prints mixed into one outfit, and in are laid-back looks actually replicable for non-bloggers/editors/buyers/"influencers." Despite the hundreds of looks shown on the runway, what show attendees wear to watch can yield the best outfit ideas. This is particularly useful in this painful between-seasons period where you kind of hate everything you've been wearing since September, but can't reeeally justify spring shopping yet. Below, find four practical style ideas ripped right from the pages of New York Fashion Week attendees, including shopping suggestions to get you started.

Fuzzy Coats

Did you notice that under their standout coats, the girls in these photos are wearing jeans and tees? When there is no brain power to be clever with an outfit, throw on a fuzzy, nubby, or bouclé coat to do all of the work. They're like entry-level fur and shearling with all of that texture and warmth, but significantly less pricey.

Cropped Jeans

Jeans cropped were inescapable. Whether they're skinny, straight, or wide legged, the key is denim that's 100% cotton. That way, when you take scissors to the hem for a custom length, you'll get a fray that doesn't have any funky elastic strings in it.

Not sure how everyone arrived on the idea of white handbags, but they seem to be in every fifth street style pic from the week. A white bag is as adaptable as a black or brown bag, believe it or not, with the light color really popping in unique shapes like trapeze totes and box bags.

Yes, a white bag opens up the possibilities of "getting dirty." You're a big girl, you can manage it.

Berry-as-Neutral

Berry hues proved their versatility in head-to-toe looks as well as accent pieces in some of our favorite looks of the week. Solange went all-in with sequin, grape-colored trousers, a v-neck blouse, and a deep pink duster coat, but the color was just as impactful as a bomber over an all-white look.
