The Top 10 Things That Happened at Paris Fashion Week Fall 2016

We get it. Your Paris Fashion Week invites were somehow lost in the mail, and you'll always be remembered as the [person] who didn't go to Paris. Thankfully, nothing cures a case of the FOMO's quicker than a quick round-up of what went down. We've scoured Instagrams, played paparrazzi with street style stars, and watched runway live stream after runway live stream so you wouldn't have to.

#1: Demna Does Balenciaga

And we loved it. Well, the clothes anyway. Sure, structured power suits and slouchy puffer jackets are revolutionary and all, but failing to book a single model of color is not. It's 2016, and if you're going to poach from a streetwear culture that was born and bred by people of color, make sure those people are well-represented.

#2: It's a Family Affair

Certified #CoolTeen Willow Smith made her Paris Fashion Week debut at the Chanel show alongside her mom, Jada Pinkett. Her unbearably chill brother Jaden? Nowhere to be found. Well, that is until we caught up with him sitting front row at the Louis Vuitton show with Selena Gomez later that week.

#3: The Fashion Crowd Honors International Women's Day

Fashion insiders, editors, and influencers paid homage to the March 8th holiday the best way they knew how: by wearing head-to-toe female designers whilst snapping it up for the 'Gram. Here's to hoping the hashtag #DesignedByHer will always be a thing.

#4: Oh, Loewe!

Jonathan Anderson was on a whole new level with his latest collection at Loewe. The leather bustiers, scarf shirts, and cat pendents were the perfect mix of "out there" and straight-up luxe.

#5: A Pearl-Encrusted Yeezus

Honestly, this list wouldn't be a list without a Kanye shoutout. He attended PFW sans Kim (or North) this time around. His new front row BFF for the Givenchy and Balmain shows? His mother-in-law, Kris Jenner. #Sensational.

#6: A Pretty Prom in Paris Courtesy of Coach

To commemorate Coach's Parisian flagship opening, the Americana brand trekked to The City of Lights to celebrate. Famous guests included the brand's newest face Chloë Grace Moretz and Raf Simons. Did we mention that Debbie Harry performed?

#7: Americans in Paris

The 2015 Council of Fashion Designers of America class showcased their latest collections in Paris this year. Do you know who they are? Don't worry we got you! Check out their Insta-tags above.

#8: The Givenchy After Party Was Pretty Lit

Beautiful models and celebrities popping bottles and having fun. Enough said.

#9: The Last Day of PFW Didn't Disappoint

The last day of fashion week was a power-packed day with both the Louis Vuitton and Miu Miu runway collections. Louis Vuitton stole the show, though — their homage to the their classic LV heritage was done just right.

#10: Oh, And The Weather Was An Absolute Drag

You probably couldn't tell from all the beautiful collections on the runways, but the weather in Paris was, well, not so picture perfect. Thankfully, rain showers and cold temps mean tons of movement, so we lucked out in the street style photo department.
