International Women's Day fell smack dab in the middle of Paris Fashion Week today. So what better way to celebrate the social, political, economic, and cultural achievements of women than through fashion itself?
Although the fashion industry has historically targeted women, they make up an overwhelming minority of today's leading designers.
In order to commemorate the March 8th holiday, some of the industy's leading street style stars, editors, and models have already taken to Instagram in head-to-toe female designers with the hashtag #DesignedByHer. Yasmin Sewell, the fashion director at Style.com, showed her support by wearing Beaufille, Mih Jeans, and Miu Miu shoes, while magazine publisher Caroline Issa stepped out in Sonia Rykiel, Sacai, and Prada.
