Fashion Publicists Really, Really Want You to Buy an Easter Dress

"Hey, have you bought a new Easter outfit yet?" is a question a rather small percentage of people will hear in their lifetime, but in the world of fashion publicity, it is a question that is asked of a journalist every minute of every day, starting about two months prior to the actual holiday.

But unlike other holidays with religious origins, like, say, Christmas, Halloween, or St. Patrick's Day, Easter is one that's less tied to secular culture, largely because it's one of the most sacred days of the year for Christians. Which is to say, an Easter outfit has really always been, and continues to be, about going to church, and aside from a few niche outlets, most fashion websites (including this one) generally don't cover them.

This, however, hasn't stopped the people tasked with promoting everything from orthopedic flip-flops to charm jewelry from sending some (admittedly very creative) pitches via email. Below, an edited selection of releases the Racked team has received.
