Vogue's New Documentary Has Plenty of Met Gala Drama

Have you reached that point where you can quote nearly every line of The September Issue, without shame? Same here — but hold up! Seven long years later, Vogue is ready to put forth another fashion documentary we can all quote into eternity.

Vogue.com announced this morning that The First Monday in May, a documentary chronicling last year's Met Gala extravaganza, will be opening at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 13. While that's exciting for the small population of people who will actually get to see the film on that day, the rest of us will have to make do with the two-and-a-half minute-long trailer that was also released today, in conjunction with the announcement.

While there's plenty of "fashion can create a dream" -type inspirational quotes woven together in the trailer, plus a juicy bit on whether Vogue can fit Rihanna's performance into its budget, what we're really here for are the 3.5 seconds where Anna Wintour looks at a seating chart, points to a blurred-out name on a Post-It tab and asks, "I thought he wasn't coming?"

When Vogue's director of special projects Sylvana Ward Durrett informs her that the mystery person is, in fact, attending, Anna sighs and asks, "Ok, can he not be on his cell phone the entire time then?"
