Oscars 2016: The Best Moments You Missed From Last Night

And just like that, another awards season has come and gone. The 2016 Oscars are officially over, and if you used last night to recover from the weekend, here's everything to hold you over for the inevitable Oscars-related gossip at work tomorrow.

But first, the bullet points: Leo won (but remember all those times he didn't?), as did Brie (remember when she used to make music videos?), and sparkles and leg slits were all over the red carpet. Besides the winners, here's what else happened on Hollywood's biggest night.

Chris Rock used his opening monologue to criticize the Oscar's lack of diversity

The host of the evening wasted no time discussing this year's awards most talked-about subject. As the second year in a row in which not a single actor of color was nominated in the four acting categories, Chris Rock delved into the controversial boycott and called the whole shebang the "White People's Choice Awards." Kate and Leo caved to the demands of the public, pretended they were a couple

Everyone wore sparkles

You know what they say: Dress for the job you want. Margot Robbie was just one of many who evidently thought of the adage while getting ready for the event.

Gucci's creative director managed to nab a ticket

Nobody knew who anyone was

Not only did Total Beauty mistake Whoopi Goldberg for Oprah, but E! News spent roughly five minutes discussing "Tilda Swinton's Oscar look," pictured above. (Note: This is not Tilda Swinton.)

Chris Rock handed out Girl Scout cookies

Why? Unclear. Cookies!

Oh! That's what the cookies were for

Chris Rock and his daughters raised $65,243 for the Girl Scouts. Brava!

Mark Ruffa-winked

Sadly, however, it was not enough to win him the award for Best Supporting Actor.

Joe Biden was there

After joking that he was "the least qualified man here tonight," Biden took the stage to call for action against sexual assault in support of the It's On Us campaign.

Lady Gaga delivered the night's most powerful performance

Gaga nailed her performance of "'Til It Happens to You," the Oscar-nominated song she co-wrote with Diane Warren for The Hunting Ground, a documentary about on-campus sexual assault. Earlier in the night, she tweeted that she'd be thinking of Kesha.

Mad Max won everything

Okay, not everything, but the film took home the awards for Costume Design, Film Editing, Makeup and Hairstyling, Production Design, Sound Editing, and Sound Mixing. It won so many awards in the first half of the ceremony that when he announced the winner of Documentary Short Subject, Louis C.K. joked that the winner was Mad Max.

But Gaga won the red carpet

Our fashion editors agree: out of a relatively dull red carpet, Gaga's perfect mix of Old Hollywood glamour and NYC art freak took the cake. Fun fact: designer (and Gaga's BFF) Brandon Maxwell designed no less than five looks for her. She chose this pantsuit hybrid.

The Revenant didn't win Best Picture

Though it took home the awards for Best Director and Best Actor, The Revenant didn't win the ceremony's final and most prestigious award. Instead, that honor went to Spotlight.
