Sad news: Jennifer Lawrence and her generally faithful and loving boyfriend, the internet, are fighting. Last night after winning the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Comedy, she and other winners answered questions from various press outlets, and when one reporter didn't look up from his phone while asking a question, Jennifer Lawrence reacted as Jennifer Lawrence-y as if she'd tripped on her way to the stage.

The journalist in question, reportedly from the Latin American E! Network, was mid-way through a question about how she felt about the Oscars, when Lawrence interrupted. "You can't live your whole life behind your phone, bro," she said. "You can't do that. You gotta live in the now."

After swiftly apologizing, he then managed to finish his question, to which Lawrence replied, "We're at the Golden Globes. If you'd put your phone down, you'd know that."

For what it's worth, the entire press room, as well as the journalist in question, seemed to assume she was kidding, and were laughing nearly the entire length of the video. But the only room tougher than a room full of reporters? The internet. Variety tweeted the video, which received a flood of angry reactions, with fans calling her "rude" and "condescending," as well as the argument that the journalist was likely using his phone to read off his prepared questions, or, due to the language barrier, to translate them.

One journalist who says he was in the room, however, claims that the dude kinda deserved it. He tweets:

What's most significant is the fact that the whole event could have easily gone another way: Plenty of celebrities have been praised for arguing with reporters in the past — hers could have been just another one of the same instances. Perhaps this, if anything, is hope that someday soon, Jennifer Lawrence and her boyfriend will kiss and make up.
