Everything You Want to Know About Cathy Horyn's New Furry Friend

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Fashion deity and current critic-at-large for The Cut has been making the rounds at Paris Fashion Week with her new best friend, Hector!

It's her a-little-bit-creepy and probably totally-functional new purse. When asked if it was real earlier on her Twitter timeline, she said, "Kinda!" Not sure we want any more details on that one, thanks.

But we do know exactly where Hector came from. You could tell Horyn was an instant fan of the Thom Browne design after she barked about them in her reviews of the latest litter of NYFW shows. "The household dog into a purse?" she writes "Well, that truly would be macabre, but Browne does have a dachshund named Hector, and Hector inspired not only the doggy bags (in smooth black calf or wirehaired) but also embroidery motifs."

We can't wait for the fashion set to get ahold of these and create some sort of inception situation where a purse dog's inside a dog purse.

Browne clearly threw Horyn a bone and hooked her up with one of the bags just weeks after his fall 2016 show.

For the rest of us, there are lots of dog-shaped bags to hold us over until Browne's arrive in store.

Can we interest you in this "smug pug" bag for the very reasonable price of 40 bones?

Or how about a purse shaped like a Pomeranian? Have we got your tail wagging now?
