This awards season, there's one nominee whose style can best be described as "everyone's artsy little sister." That actress is Saoirse Ronan, the 21-year-old Irish star of the film Brooklyn. Having recently hired stylist Elizabeth Saltzman, however, Ronan's whimsical flair has been channeled into more elegant, simpler gowns as of late — no surprise, considering Saltzman's most famous client is Gwyneth Paltrow.

Here to obsessively chart her red carpet style choices from her very first appearance promoting Brooklyn up to the Screen Actors Guild awards are a smattering of Racked editors ready to share their expert opinions.

The Timeline

The Verdict

Though it's clear that Saoirse Ronan has a natural inclination towards the whimsical, hiring a stylist seems to have steered her in the direction of angelic minimalism. She's kept certain aspects of her "art school kid" vibe, but if her SAG and Golden Globes dresses are any indication, her Oscars look will be both very pretty and very pastel, and hopefully not without some spectacular sleeves.
