Amal Clooney's Red Power Suit Is Justice Incarnate

In her representation of the imprisoned former president of the Maldives, Mohamed Nasheed, Amal Clooney needed but one tool to successfully free him from jail: This red power suit, otherwise known as justice incarnate.

The human rights lawyer as been representing Nasheed after he was sentenced to 13 years in prison for terrorism charges last March, according to the Independent. The United Nations, however, described the trial as "clearly flawed," and "a setback to the human rights situation as well as to moves towards finding a political solution in the Maldives."

Over the weekend, Clooney met with British Prime Minister David Cameron and Nasheed, who was granted temporary release from jail in order to travel to London for back surgery. Today, she attended a press conference, where she answered questions relating to his situation.

"The case for sanctions is urgent," she said, according to the Daily Mail. "We must continue not just for President Nasheed but for all the people of the Maldives, who are victims of human rights abuse."
