You'd be forgiven for not noticing that the Golden Globes, generally considered the most entertaining (read: drunkest) event of awards season, are currently happening. That's because in the two-plus hours they've been underway, nothing particularly interesting has happened. Until now!

Like a hero called to action by whomever god governs Sunday night entertainment, Taraji P. Henson won the award for Best Actress in a TV Drama for her role in Empire as Cookie. During her walk up to the stage, she immediately grabbed two handfuls of chocolate chip cookies and proceeded to pass them around to random celebrities in the audience.

Frankly, we're willing to forgive the rather literal wordplay and appreciate the gesture for what it was: The most exciting thing to happen to the 2016 Golden Globes thus far.

Once she made it to the stage, however, she also delivered one of the best acceptance speeches of the night. When the teleprompter instructed her to "please wrap," she replied, "Please wrap? Wait a minute, I've waited 20 years for this, you're gonna wait!" Watch it below.
